This icon is essentially Explore feature that Facebook is conducting testing on certain users. When we click on that icon, a second News Feed will appear, which is different from the default Facebook News Feed you often see.
Normally, the News Feed by default will be where we get all your friends' information from photos, sharing, likes, comments or information from Fanpage, Group that you clicked like and Follow on Facebook.
With this Explore feature, we will come to a whole new world, the information coming from the pages that we do not like Like, those that are not on the list. And the information that appears on the second News Feed will be similar and relevant to the default News Feed.
A more specific example is that you like on Facebook, the technology information of the site will appear on the News Feed. Meanwhile, you do not like, the site also has information and technology tips, when going to News Feed 2, you will see the information of the site there. In addition, sites with similar content and properties without hitting Like will also appear on this 2nd News Feed.
This will help Facebook users to get more relevant information from similar sites, but you don't need to like or follow too many pages, leading to "garbage" Facebook. Besides, instead of searching for relevant information, when going to News Feed 2, we will get the results we need immediately.
